光纖激光切割機編制的程序不再需要手工修正，而是一個與理論刃口線完全一致的三維加工程序，可直接用于產品的切割。激光切割機將從激光器發射出的激光，經光路系統，聚焦成高功率密度的激光束。激光束照射到工件表面，使工件達到熔點或沸點，同時與光束同軸的高壓氣體將熔化或氣化金屬吹走。它可以保證切削過程中始終保持與實際切削刃狀態一致，不存在不能繪制的二維線。整個切割過程不需要人工干預，從源頭上保證產品的每一次加工都與數字化模型保持一致，使原來需要多次探索才能得到的切割邊線只完成3~4次。
